SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
The Dance Drill Coaches Association offers an opportunity for graduating team members to apply for academic and dance scholarships.
1. General eligibility: Seniors may apply if all coaches affiliated with their team are members of DDCA. Other eligibility requirements include competing in the State Competition, or in lieu of State participation, the team must be an active member of DDCA and participate in at least two local competitions during the year of not attending State.
2. The number and dollar amount of the scholarships is determined by the DDCA Board of Directors prior to State.
3. Scholarship awards will be paid directly to the institute after the student has been accepted and enrolled.
4. Scholarship monies can be used for dance or academic pursuits.
5. Scholarship applications are distributed on or about the time of the Winter meeting.
DANCE SCHOLARSHIP
1. Dance Scholarship Eligibility:
a. Must be a graduating senior
b. A member in good standing at time of State of an Oregon Dance or Drill Team
c. GPA of 2.0 or better.
d. A medical release form must be included with the application, and an adult school representative must accompany the applicant to the dance auditions.
2. Dance Scholarship Selection Process: Based on the above information and a classroom dance audition.
ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP
1. Academic Scholarship Eligibility:
a. Must be a graduating senior
b. A member in good standing at time of State of an Oregon Dance or Drill Team
c. GPA of 3.75 or better.
2. Academic Scholarship Selection Process: Based on the above information and weighed 70% for academic ability, and 30% personal characteristics.
3. Application will be available in December.
SCHOLAR ATHLETE PROGRAM
The DDCA Scholar Athlete Program recognizes seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher who are currently a member of a dance team, and meet OSAA guidelines for eligibility. The GPA should reflect the 7th semester cumulative GPA. Four year team membership is not required. These athletes are listed in the State Competition programs. Forms for this program are included in the State packet handed out at the Winter Meeting.
